Prosthetics
Because no two people are alike, every amputee patient who seeks our care is carefully assessed to determine not only their physical characteristics and fitting measurements, but the nature of their hopes and dreams for an active future. Goal-setting is a vital part of determining which prosthesis will best serve each patient's needs and help them to achieve what might once have seemed impossible.
You can rely on Snell's to design, fabricate and fit a wide variety of upper and lower limb devices from the top manufacturers in the country. Because of our excellent relationship with such firms, we are in the vanguard of providers offering the very newest designs and techniques.
We are happy to explain how new materials, new ideas and designs can open up new horizons for active amputees. This is an exciting field where new advances are rapidly being perfected-making today's prostheses more lightweight, responsive, and controllable than ever before. Many prosthesis wearers compete athletically, while others rediscover the joys of golf, tennis, skiing, and other sports.
Lower Extremity Prostheses: We can serve our amputee patients best by being involved in the process as soon as possible-even prior to amputation, when possible. Your prosthetist will recommend the prosthetic options best suited to your personal preferences, based on your physique, activity level, interests and hobbies-and will thoroughly discuss all options with you.
Depending on circumstances and your doctor's preference, you may be fitted with a preparatory prosthesis that will allow you to begin walking as soon after surgery as possible, even while your residual limb heals and the swelling subsides. Such temporary prostheses are designed to be quickly and easily adjustable, and to adapt comfortably to the changing size and shape of your residual limb.
Many quality lower-limb prosthesis designs are available from manufacturers who provide us with state-of-the-art options.
The right prosthesis for a patient is not always the most technologically advanced prosthesis. Let us help by working with your physician, therapist, and case manager to assure that you receive the best possible prosthetic solution for your lifestyle and goals.

C-Leg
The C-Leg was the first and only leg prosthesis system worldwide with a fully microprocessor-controlled stance and swing phase.
Genium System
Genium™ Bionic Prosthetic System
This state-of-the-art microprocessor-controlled knee joint utilizes a complex sensory system and sophisticated rule sets to mimic natural gait more closely than any other prosthetic knee. With multiple environmental inputs (including a gyroscope and an accelerometer), the Genium delivers unmatched functionality, including special features to help step over obstacles and ascend stairs.
The Genium builds on the knowledge gained from experience with tens of thousands of C-Leg® wearers and decades of development. The unique Genium technology is not a next-generation C-Leg, but is a sophisticated new technology platform built to gather exponentially greater microprocessor inputs that result in very precise responses.
OSSUR
Rheo Knee
The RHEO KNEE is the worlds first microprocessor swing and stance knee system to utilize the power of artificial intelligence. Capable of independent thought, it learns how the user walks, recognizing and responding immediately to changes in speed, load and terrain.
Proprio Foot
The PROPRIO FOOT thinks for itself, responding beautifully to changing terrain and transforming the approach to stairs and slopes, as well as level-ground walking. Angling itself appropriately, it also helps amputees to sit and stand up easily and more naturally.

Omega System
Otto Bock TT TF Computer Aided Design/Manufacturing System-Snell's has a long history of using the latest in technology to ensure the most comfortable and least invasive measuring and fitting for our patients. The Bock TT TF system we now utilize enables us to more quickly and efficiently capture your specific images and measurements. Thus we can create the socket that is perfectly personalized for you and your needs.
Pathfinder
Historically, prosthetic feet have put a person's weight on the edges of the foot. The unique design of the Pathfinder's independent toes in combination with the pneumatic heel spring allow amputees to have the center of their weight on the ball of their foot. With the motion being created inside the design, it provides stability that is often lacking from a standard prosthetic ankle.
Alpha Liners
These mineral oil based liners provide added comfort for a range of upper and lower extremity prostheses
College Park
Foot choice is a critical decision that affects every step you take. CPI offers a variety of foot choices for every amputee.
Soleus
With an innovative multiple spring design, the Soleus produces natural movement, smooth transition and superior range of motion. Involving the entire foot in absorbing and returning energy, the Soleus accommodates a moderate to the most active lifestyle.
TruStep
The College Park TruStep Foot combines virtually the same vertical motion, rotation and stability found in the anatomical foot. The unique split-toe design that defines the TruStep provides up to inch of independent toe flex during normal use. With a full range of options available, TruStep's versatile design allows complete customization, resulting in a natural gait pattern and unsurpassed comfort.

Elite Foot
The Elite foot is ideal for those who have higher activity levels, such as daily activities that exceed basic walking including rigorous, high impact, high energy activities like athletics, childrens games and rugged work.
Upper Extremity Prostheses: Science fiction is now science fact, providing us with some amazing "bionic" devices that combine flexibility, controllability, and utility in a prosthetic arm and/or hand that is motivated by the electrical impulses from the patient's own musculature. Engineering advances continue to improve the capabilities of these prostheses; Snell's can help you to choose from the many options available from leading prosthetics manufacturers:
i-Limb-With the i-limb ultra,
your prosthesis looks and moves more like a natural hand than any other powered prosthetic hand. Allows for multiple types of grasps, and features articulating thumb.
i-Limb Partial Hand-With i-limb digits,
anywhere from one to five missing fingers can be replaced with individually powered prosthetic digits. These digits, which move independently and bend at the joints, work in conjunction with any remaining fingers to help you increase your functional capabilities.
be-Bionic-Elegantly designed,
the bebionic hand is a new generation of fully articulating myo-electric hands. Grasping everyday objects with precision and ease is possible due to the compliant surface and multiple grip patterns.
Fillauer/Motion Control's Utah Procontrol 2, the world's first self-adjusting below-elbow prosthesis, and is small enough for children.
Otto Bock's MyoBoy Tester/Trainer allows new upper extremity amputees to experiment with a virtual prosthesis.
Otto Bock also offers the unique Sensor Hand,
Transcarpal Hand, and ErgoArm Elbow
Although a physician's prescription is required prior to the actual fitting process, we encourage patients to contact us for an appointment with practioners, who will be happy to discuss the process and the possibilities as extensively as necessary, demonstrating and explaining the full range of possibilities available.

Sensor Hand Speed
With a dizzying 300 mm per second opening/closing speed, (over twice as fast as before) and enhanced EMG signal processing, the new "SensorHand Speed" has unmatched performance.
Dynamic Arm
A new generation of elbow joints has arrived with flexion controlled by an electric motor in combination with a unique vario drive. The DynamicArm 12K100 allows for quick, exact positioning of the hand with little energy expenditure and incorporates an innovative, high-performance drive with stepless gears that can lift loads up to 6 kg.
Motion Control
Utah Arm 3
In 2004, Motion Control introduced microprocessor technology into the Utah Arm 3 (U3), with a Computer Interface that allows the prosthetist or wearer to fine-tune the adjustments to achieve maximum performance. A variety of inputs may be used, so more options are available to more wearers in this updated myo-electric arm.
Liberating Technologies
Boston Digital Arm System
LTI introduced the Boston Digital Arm System early in 2001. This state-of-the-art prosthetic system incorporates microprocssor technology for improved performance and optimal patient adjustment.
